Rivier Outstanding Scholars Display Is Coming!

Happy Friday Raiders! You made it!

Next week in the library (and throughout the year) we will be displaying student work that was nominated by their professors as examples of excellent scholarship. Drop by the library and check out the display screens upstairs and in the Reference Room, especially if you are working on a presentation for class. This is an excellent way to see what kind of research professors are looking for, and replicate it in your own research. And who knows? Your work could be up next semester!

Stay tuned, and enjoy the beautiful Spring-like weather this weekend!

Free Academic Articles!

Hi Raiders!

When you graduate from Riv, you get to take a lot of things with you, like knowledge and stuff. Sadly, access to our databases is not one of the takeaways. But never fear, because you can now access BASE, an open access (code word: FREE) database that provides you with academic journal articles.

BASE is a fantastic resource for you to use once you’re out in your respective field, if you find the need to use professional resources for a presentation at work or for any research you might need to do for an employer. Check out this amazing resource, and you can take it with you wherever you may go on you journey beyond Riv.

Have a great weekend, and stay warm!

Welcome to Spring Semester!

Welcome back, Raiders!

We hope you had an amazing vacation–they always go by so fast, don’t they? But here we are!

The library is open for regular hours again, with the exception of MLK weekend. Those hours are:

Friday, January 15             8:00 am – 8:00 pm

Saturday, January 16        9:00 am – 6:00 pm

Sunday, January 17           11:00 am – 11:00 pm

Monday, January 18         12:00 pm – 12:00 am

The ERC will be open today, Friday 1/15 until 3:00 pm.

The ERC will be closed this holiday weekend and will reopen for normal hours on Tuesday, January 19.

You might notice some film strips along the library walls. Those lead to our vibrant and expansive DVD collection! Feel free to check out a few movies for these cold winter nights. We also have a wide variety of curriculum support items and popular fiction, so whether you’re in school mode or need a break–the library has you covered!

Good luck this Spring–we look forward to another amazing semester. 🙂
