The idea of piracy has long since been romanticized, despite its gruesome reality. Still, on the lighter side of things, being a pirate can be pretty fun! If you ever find yourself on the island of Nassau in the Bahamas, I recommend visiting the Pirate Museum there. They so nicely describe the plight of the British soldier, who spent every day working themselves to the bone from dawn till dusk for mere pennies. When you compare that to lazing about all day and searching for large amounts of treasure to continue funding a life of leisure, being a pirate sounds pretty great!

If you feel like channeling your inner pirate here on campus, look no further than the Regina library stacks! There is a book that occasionally finds its way onto the shelf, a book that has been hollowed out and filled with candy, that you will be able to find only if you follow the clues. Keep an eye on our social media (Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare) for hints about the treasure, and you could be the next winner of our TREASURE HUNT!

And, if you’re looking for some good pirate-related books or movies, look no further than the library, and check one out today:
